Peters + Peters is processing the special wood type called ODUM-IROKO for over 30 years now. During this period we’ve been experimenting with other wood types as well and from experience we can clearly say – for permanent outdoor use there is no better fitting wood than the ODUM-IROKO Hardwood.

Only the ODUM-IROKO Hardwood is thanks to it’s natural ingredients (inherently) immune to putrefaction and fungal infestation.At the same time the unique pattern of growth ensures immense inner stability. Because of these characteristics  the ODUM-IROKO Hardwood exhibits only a slight tendency to crack formation and can therefore be connected with the soil without any chemical impregnation.

But our carefully designed Gates and Fences cannot be build of good wood only. Another important aspect is the surface refinement / paint finish. During our first years in business we referred to commercial colour systems  but quickly determined that our requirements regarding liability, durability and the ease of care  couldnt’ be satisfied with these colours –after a short period of time we tried systematically to come up with our own development and succeeded with this project in the early 90’s being able to present our groundbreaking IROPUR-2K colour system. This new type of Two-Components-Colour system and the ODUM-IROKO Hardwood merged together conduce the colour retention and not even mechanical damage of the surface can affect this process. The Ease of care and the small amount of maintenance required should be added as well.

That’s why we can guarantee without restriction of any kind  that our paintwork will last up to 7 years and the rot resistance at least for 25 years!
